Aside from the earmarks which is a rather strange list-----------what were Bush's major objections to the Farm Bill.

I am trying to understand this-----I know that a lot of farm land was taken out of production decades ago and farmers given subsidies(money) not to plant in order to control the market for various crops.

Some of those farms in Virginia and West Virginia have been sold for developments, both home and commercial and some have been turned into trailer parks.

As I understand from a friend, the farm bill now subsidizes the big growers and there are few small farms left. That person felt we should be doing more for the small farmer.
