If they're making such a great living by producing enough for us, then what's the problem? Why don't they use some of that big money to do some consuming?

If I read your point right, I think you misread the point you are citing. The point was that third world countries produce too little and consume too little. In other words, they need to produce more so they can consume more, instead of blaming it on what we consume.
