Sure, if you think about it, Obama has been a commmunity organizer and small-time politician - elevated pretty suddenly and pretty accidentally to the Senate. Then after just two years and on the basis of a speech and a few catch phrases he's a Presidential candidate and some latch on to him like a veritable messiah.

Speaks to people's needs for some figure to believe in??? But why turn to politics for this need?

I don't think a majority of people are going to catch this fever and it sure is a fever. He has already made so many mistakes of judgment and speech.

He should have known his preacher and church were political dynamite and taken care of the problem long long ago but didn't deal with it till the crazy preacher started an intended speaking tour which was gonna derail Obama's candidacy. Grossly inadequate foresight and judgement there.

The blunder about Iran is a big one. Iranian Amir Taheri explained how Obama foolishly strengthened Ahmadinejad's standing within his own country. Apparently Obama gave no thought to the long-standing international diplomatic effort to control Iran and would scrap that for personal diplomacy - sounds pretty cowboy-like to me.

Obama's followers can pretend he has some special insight into international affairs because he lived in Indonesia a few years as a child and has visited a couple other countries. But his own comments show otherwise. One wonders if he plans to take an Arabic translator with him on his summit with Iran as he seems to think the Arab world stretches to Afghanistan.

Ah, but this is just the mutterings of a conservative who'd never vote for Obama anyway so that makes everything I say not count.
