>>The measure of Clinton's response to AQ can be measured in the results.

Bush did not appreciate the threat either until we were attacked.

AQ has decimated itself as a result of our efforts under Bush's leadership.

You can focus on OBL hiding in a cave, he is meaningless. What is important is that we have not had another attack on US soil.

Clinton's failures do not excuse Bush from recognizing the threat and responding until after an attack.<<

Well, I'm glad to see you recognize that Bush's inaction prior to 9/11 was due to the fact that he didn't recognize the threat.

You do realize that there has only been one Al Qaeda attack on US soil ever, right? It was a spectacular attack, but it remains the only one. No such attack occurred on Bill Clinton's watch, just for the record.

It's debatable, at this point, whether AQ is "decimated". I've seen some security estimates that indicate they're doing quite well with recruiting. One of the things that helps with that is the fact that they can point to how bin Laden has eluded us. Little children in madrassas laugh at the impotence of the mighty US. Ha ha, they can't even catch bin Laden with all their power!

Unimportant? He's the man responsible for the most heinous act of terrorism ever committed! How the bleep is capturing him not extremely important? What are we supposed to do, just let him off the hook? Excuse me, but that's just crazy talk. Zawahiri, too. We need to get both of them. I'm very pleased that Obama has made the pledge to do so.
