It's interesting but not surprising to see Israel be more moderate than Bush towards its enemies. I think Israel is seeing the writing on the wall about long term trends: an increase of power and influence of the OPEC Arabs and Russia due to peak oil, and decreasing power and influence of the US due to its policy (or rather lack of policy) of living it up now and charging it all to the Asian credit card.
