But if you extend your reading to places other than this thread, it is definitely being used negatively. Since MM originally joined us on what was almost a dare from a thread that spends a lot of time making fun of this one, I think some suspicion of his use of it was normal- especially since he admitted he was being provocative. I hasten to add that MM has been very nice, played by the rules (better than some of us), and as far as I know, has not made fun of us elsewhere. I think that says a great deal about him. And I think we have all enjoyed him and quehebo and the other conservative voices. I sure have, anyway. At times, this place has been a bit too liberal for me- but my best friends are here. :) So I will have to agree with you about the usage on this thread being innocuous, but not that the term itself is always so.
