There will certainly be very clear choices but mocking Obama's limited experience implies that Obama won't be ready to hold discussions on tough issues at the same level of sophistication as McCain.

McCain will find out that Harvard Law Review editors are very quick studies on many things, and suck up information on all sides of an issue like sponges. Obama should then have a list of specific points to attack McCain's record and experience, and show that not only is Obama ready to step in and lead on these issues, McCain's judgment is in doubt.

That's what he did very effectively to Hillary, at least in the debates that actually focused on issues.

I imagine that the October debates will be run by nonprofit organizations like the past and not the main news networks who turned them into tabloid shows.
