of course, the terrorist are madder than ever and there are more of them! That's why they have attacked us numerous times since 9/11... I've heard the "We're not safer today" remark a lot, and from people whose opinions I have the greatest respect for. Those who are committed enough to the project (i.e., killing infidels) to act on their hatred are either in such total disarray, don't have the resources, or cannot get through the barriers the Bush Administration has created. There is no doubt that many are still trying. But we are in a safer place today than we were on 9/10, and try as they might, the Left is going to have a hard time taking credit for it.
