"Prefer" isn't really a word that I think can be used with this situation. What I "prefer" is not to have massive dislocation in our society- and an unpredictable dislocation at that. In many ways I view this a lot like the Iraq war. The status quo isn't that bad (just as it wasn't before the Iraq war)- and change may come at spectacular and unforeseen cost. And I think I can categorically state I'm against spectacular and unforeseen costs. Since you gave me a false dichotomy, I'll give you one, and put you down as being "for" spectacular and unforeseen costs, and "preferring" massive dislocations.

"So you prefer the present system where employers get to exploit workers?"
