I'm not worried about paying more. For myself, I don't really care how expensive things are. I can pay for whatever I want. I am worried about people on the edge paying more. There are people already losing their homes in droves. We know gasoline is putting a huge strain on incomes. If I were to be a "brave proponent of change" in this area I'd be being "brave" with other people's money, and at risk to people much more vulnerable than myself. I don't find that very brave.

I would "prefer" not to charge in to a "difficult transition" that might be a stupid idea. I doubt you have any idea what the ramifications of such change would be. I am not a universal advocate for change. When things aren't broken, or when they are not very broken, I'm not for radical change.

I'm not dodging the issues. You simply don't like the way I see this, so your recourse is to insult. It's a cheap trick.
