Chris, ideally I'd like to see the UN go in with humanitarian aid escorted by an international peacekeeping force led by America. France has the right idea for once:

news.yahoo.com

The only problem is that China and Russia have vetoed UN resolutions in the past concerning Myanmar. Their excuse is that the junta isn't destabilizing international security, so why bother?

Now that the cyclone has come and gone, I don't think it's quite so easy for China and Russia to be as callous. Unless they can make the argument that the citizens of Myanmar should be allowed to simply die of disease and starvation, they should at least support France's resolution.
