>>>Do not be confused with the numbers. If you are an investor you should
only be concerned with percentage and not the actual number of $s. As
you state MSFT has 9 billion in cash and generated only 3.2 billion.
That is about 30%. It is indeed outstanding. Sun on the other hand had 1 billion in
cash and generated 2.5 billion. That is 250%! Allow me to ask you which is greater
30% or 250%? <<<

Addi,
There is a flaw in your logic. According to this the less cash a company has the better it will look like. for example, if SUNW had 0 cash then their efficiency goes to infinity. But we all know that it is not true. The more cash the better (ofcourse no debt).

Both Addi and Twister: I think you should wait till the earnings report comes for both SUNW and MSFT and should discuss on that. Plese talk about the past record and the future possible record. (I fully agree with Twister that if you just take past record, MSFT will beat SUNW like anything). Bread and butter of SUNW is its server and the discussion should be focused on that rather than some hot shot hyped technology which is not making any money. Java helps SUN to get some image and some business for servers, but it is yet to make any decent money. If it clicks then SUNW will shine like a real star. If it fails, it won't hurt SUN much either. They always have their servers. (UltraSparcIII chip can scale upto 1000 processors. looks impressive).

OK. In a nut shell, my kind request is to focus the discussion on some numbers and not just some Bullish or Bearish speculation.

Thanks for your consideration
