I am thinking another woman with working class ties and feminist creds may fit the bill. I have been convinced recently by some pundits that Hillary is so toxic to conservatives that her presence on the ticket would give McCain a lot of wiggle room so he can better display his independent side without risking too many defections or stay at homes. I do think that at this time, hillary would be the better presidential candidate because she does better in the key states. I think someone mentioned Senator McCaskill from Missouri as a possible running mate. mccaskill.senate.gov

Now i may be wrong. McCain is doing his job well in demonizing obama without it ever touching race. So Hillary on the ticket in the end might still be better than going with a sub.
