They have a difficult job.

I know its tough and I know that politics play a huge role.

But for them to have said they would oppose the war funding and then back down time and time again shows a lack of spinal rigidity.

I am also somewhat disgusted that they've not called the GOP on the record number of times they've used filibuster threats to stall progress. At least they could go on record as to what they are doing, but they don't.

I suspect here is a fair amount of letting the GOP hang themselves with their own rope too.

For six years. GWB had a Congress so compliant as to be a rubber stamp. I'd hoped that with taking the majority, although slim, that the Dems would show a stiffer opposition, at least in attitude if nothing else.
