Aubrey has been at it again....600K shares last Friday. When will this end??? The guy is already worth $1.7 gigabucks. I guess he is POed because Warren Buffett chose Bill Gates before him to mange Buffett's charitable trust.

OBTW: If you are bogged down in 10Ks, wondering what is going on with Bear Stearns, or whether the next FED move is upwards, relieve yourself. Just buy natural gas. Just do it. Don't even stop to think. Even the lowly EPEX has arisen from the dead.

Two local energy execs actively buying stocks

From Staff Reports

Chesapeake Energy Chairman Aubrey McClendon spent more than $31 million Friday to buy 600,000 shares of Chesapeake stock, according to regulatory filings made Wednesday.

McClendon has spent more than $100 million this year buying stock in the Oklahoma City company on the open market. He now controls more than 31.8 million shares of Chesapeake, valued at about $1.7 billion at Wednesday's closing price of $53.88.

Meanwhile, his former partner, SandRidge Energy Chairman Tom Ward also has been actively buying his Oklahoma City company's shares in open-market transactions, according to recent regulatory filings.

Ward bought SandRidge stock every day last week, adding more than 1 million shares to his holdings at costs ranging from $48.33 to $50.50 per share. Ward directly and indirectly owns more than 37 million shares of SandRidge, worth more than $2.1 billion at Wednesday's closing price of $56.12.
