Obama probably can't sell himself to the crowd that has already decided he is evil for one reason or another. But he doesn't need to.

Elections aren't won by playing to the other candidate's passionate base. You win by working your own base then grabbing 65-75% of the swing voters in the middle.

If Obama does that in the right states, the folks already suffering from Obama Derangement Syndrome will be stuck with the results no matter what they think.

Just like the rest of us were with GWB. Except I expect Obama to get things done with a Congress controlled by his own party.
