I shared a train car once with some young brokers from ar baron or a similar firm, this was around 1992 in Long Island. Listening to the conversation I thought they sounded more like con men and women than
brokers. I wondered how they found their marks.
Horse racing is a very difficult business be one a bettor or an owner. The turf is littered with bankruptcies of formerly affluent owners. While Iavarone found lightning in the bottle, for him to do it again would be as great a feat as Big Brown winning the Derby if not greater.
