Bridge Player, if you don't want to answer the question just say so.
You volunteered to Suma that you support Bush, saying, "Nah. I don't support President Bush out of pity. I do it out of admiration for his personal honesty, integrity, and value systems."
I was curious to know whether you thought Bush was competent and capable or whether you just didn't care because you admired his values so much and so I asked; "But how do you rate his insight, his competence and his grasp of the major issues?"
You now claim you won't answer because you don't like the rest of the post that asked the question, writing: "you asked rhetorical questions in a way that tended to denigrate anyone who supports President Bush, while making a speech and expounding on your negative views of him and his administration"
That seems transparently false.
First, if you don't want to share views about the basis for your support of Bush with people who see him differently then why share views at all.
Secondly, and more importantly, you were also asked to explain your support by Suma;i.e., "..do you just dismiss what Scott Mcclellan had to say about his experience in the White House?" and by Steve; i.e., "So you are one of the 20 something percent that still support Bush? Wow. How do you square your thinking with the constant leak of information coming from insiders in the government."
And you answered.....nothing.
So it appears that the problem may not be in the way I asked the question but rather in your unwillingness, or inability, to provide a thoughtful answer to it. Ed |
