That doesn't address the "unpatriotic" thing, which was the manifestation of suppressing I was addressing. Free speech zones are something different.

I don't see free speech zones as suppression. That's the same as kids in the classroom not being allowed to disrupt the class with their praying or any other off-topic, unsolicited verbalizing. They have to do their praying quietly or at some other time and place. Seems to me buffer zones are reasonable given the typical disruptiveness of demonstrations.
