And this president -- according the to the article -- has been more reasonable than any in history. In addition to typical demonstration disruptiveness, this president has had the additional risk of terrorists mixing with the demonstrators as will the next one. That seems to me to justify increased buffer zones, which I would expect to be with us for a while, at least. I don't presume to know Bush's motivation, but it seems to be there's a plausible innocent explanation.
