Terrorists would not carry signs and yell. They would draw as little attention to themselves as possible.

If you were a terrorist and wanted to avoid calling attention to yourself while getting close to a prime target, you'd carry signs and yell.

How many terrorist attacks have there been on government officials at any public gathering on US soil?

I'm just trying to look at it from the perspective of folks, like the pres and his bunch, that have terrorists on the brain. It's not at all unexpected that they would opt for a larger buffer.

I agree, but the point of my post was that I don't think it limits speech or protest. Freedom of speech doesn't not entitle us to picket in the Oval Office. We still get to have and express our opinions. If and when they stop dispensing permits or disallow certain opinions, then I'll object.
