For my Wall street friends, edgeQAM is the extension of DSL used by telcos. DSL uses 150khz limit; edgeQAM uses 1 ghz limit. DSL uses 24 channels; edgeQAM is now 64, 128 and 256 channels. The next generation of edgeQAM will be 2.4 ghz with even more channels.

What the telcos did with 24 channels on the telephone poles is that each house gets one or all 24 channels. ARRS now only has to allocate 2 or 4 or 8 channels per house or apartment for triple or quad play.

So, we are expecting more new products on the telephone poles from ARRS. Individual wiring from each house, and distribution boxes of 64/256 edgeQAM subcarrier equipment on the pole stringed by repeaters(amplifiers). This means, the whole world will be adopting this standard. And it is scalable for more data transmission at even faster pace.

Future is unlimited, speed to manufacturing is the key to economical expansion through out the world. With this distribution, all the data will be in pixels like fax machines, not in ascii codes that teletype machine used to do. Pixels use character and speech recognition as translators to binary computing. Almost everything will be cloud computing as a whole, once IPTV(cableTV and telcoTV) is adopted.
