One of my great aunts disowned her daughter for leaving the church... They're a lesson in tolerance, my birth family (not). Nice people, though, if you don't press them on a holy subject. My grandfather left the family and KY, and my birth mom ran as far and as fast as she could, away. We are the atheist/agnostic wing of the family. But there were 6 great aunts (sisters of my grandfather) who stayed in KY.
