What the figure shows is obvious!
Here is what the figure does not show, and is WAY over your head.
For any given latitude band:
1)The amount of solar radiation which is reflected back to space varies by longitude. I.e. oceans are different than land and different land surfaces (like desert) vary as well. Cloud cover is also a major factor in albedo. So the amount of solar radiation which heats the surface varies strongly by longitude. Oops, you forgot that part!
2)The amount of long wave radiation which leaves the surface and heads towards space also varies by longitude. Try to figure out why? Oops, you forgor this as well.
3)The amount of long wave radiation which makes it through the atmosphere and actually escapes to space also varies by longitude.
#3 is the greenhouse gas component, and yes, it depends on both H20, which does vary by longitude, and CO2, which largely does not.
Only a fool like you can misconstrue the graph you posted for being only or even largely, item 3. But here in you own words:
But the obvious variation of h20 by several percent by longitude is quite evident.
And you have to be an even bigger fool to see something particularly alarming about northern Africa, just because it is in/near the tropics but is a net loser of energy. Of course, your original post said something like Net negative 10W/m2 of energy loss, which of course would be an energy gain. You get about everything wrong, but at least I forgive you the obvious errors if I can figure out what you are trying to convey.
Right now the only thing I can deduce from the graph and your babbling about it is that you are stupid enough to think that the yearly averaged longitudinal radiate energy gain/loss directly tracks the longitudinal H20 content of the atmosphere. It does not. But even if it did, that would not have any bearing at all on the question of whether the CO2 content of the atmosphere slightly increases the temperature or not, which is what you are trying to claim it can't do. So you've made a cascade of stupid errors, but you are happy with the resulting ignorance. |
