Thanks to Jpthoma1 for this map-

mrn.gouv.qc.ca

The St. Lawrence Lowlands Utica shale gas play is generally defined by the yellow wedge in the map that is widest just south-southwest of Montreal, and that extends up to a point to the north-northeast of Quebec City. That area is largely controlled by JNX, ATI, GMR, QEC, PCQ and EPS along with JV partners Forest Oil and Talisman.

Some latecomers have staked a couple of layers of permits along the eastern boundary of the "hot zone", namely Squatex, En Cours Deliverance and Molopo. I am not sure if these latter three are public entities, but I would steer clear of those three for the moment (if they are public), unless you have better geological info than I have. There might be merit to parts of their permit positions in complex fault geometry situations, but I don't have any cross sections at this time to give me any idea if this is a possibility. Would appreciate it if anyone could point me in the direction of sections.

In previous posts on CD's thread I have included PEA in the Utica play, but that is incorrect. It's primary asset is on the Gaspe peninsula, centered on an oil discovery, and they have no St. Lawrence Lowland ground.

Recap; JNX, ATI, GMR, QEC, PCQ and EPS are the major junior players in the Lowland's Utica fairway.
