Friday morning the NPR weekly panel had a guy from the Weekly Standard who said, correctly, that McCain will try to make Obama look "weak" on Iraq.

But then I did a double-take. More than 60% of Americans want us out of Iraq on a timetable or immediately. How is advocating the position of a sizeable majority "weakness"?

That contradiction is going to trip up McCain more than he realizes. I don't hear any voices outside Bush's base clamoring for more lives and money poured into Iraq.
