Just heard an amusing back and forth between Sean Hannity and Roger Stone discussing the elusive but omnipresent rumors about the Michelle Obama "whitey" tape. Apparently both men are being avidly pursued by journalists who think that Hannity or Stone have a copy. Stone lends the story some credence; he gives original credit to high-placed sources in the Clinton camp.

However, nobody he has spoken to claims to have actually seen the tape.

He doesn't address the question of why they would be sitting on it, if they had it. Fear of blowback? Seems an insufficient reason.

How about: there is no tape. There is, however, a FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) campaign emanating from Team Clinton regarding the existence of such a tape. And who knows? They might get lucky. Something could turn up. The horse might talk.

I suggest the Lieutenant Kije Suite as theme music.
