Bob, you are so lost in assuming everyone's meaning and intentions and motivations that debating the actual facts is virtually impossible.

The idea that a candidate would spell out the operational orders for US troops in Iraq is not plausible.

Yes, Iraq's political leaders have made virtually no progress toward reconciliation. A few token gestures around the edges but that's it.

The declaration that the surge failed applies only to the Iraqi political dimensions. It has nothing to do with being "desperate to lose", your personal mantra that you are trying to make real by sheer repetition.

Your comments about the Chicago politician have nothing to do with the Iraq issue, they are just your personal bias and heaping it on because you don't like the guy.

And back to the original issue - how much are you willing to spend to keep 100,000 US troops in iraq for another 4-8 years?
