PORT MORESBY Jun 2, 2008 (Asia In Focus via COMTEX) -- NUSMF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- NAUTILUS MINERALS has announced it's produced a clean high-grade copper concentrate from its sea-floor site in Papua New Guinea. Nautilus is hoping to become the first company in the world to begin commercial mining of the sea-bed and is moving ahead fast in other Pacific Island countries.

* Exploration has started in Tonga, and licence applications have been lodged in Fiji and Solomon Islands.

* The company predicts seafloor mining in the Pacific, could grow to become an industry on the same scale as British North Sea oil.
