Yes, he has, in some areas with some segments of the population.

He's gonna need help in States like PA, OH, FL, W. Virginia, and he could be hurting in the Southwest and even California if he can't find some common ground with Hispanic voters.

People have to realize that McCain ISN'T Bush and he will be distancing himself more and more from Bush as the campaign progresses.

Obama needs to TIE McCain to Bush as much as possible but he ALSO needs to present himself as a BETTER alternative.

Obama needs to create a PERSONA of his own that is a little deeper than just "we can change things". He'll have to be very "astute" on ALL the issues and CONVINCE people that he's a "problem solver" and not just an opportunist.
