This is such a "no-brainer" the only explanation is politics and the farm vote... It's just ludicrous to force consumers to choose between food and fuel by mingling the two markets. Cellostic ethanol.. I can live with that, even though the it's unique logistical requirements prevent it from being shipped via existing petroleum pipelines. Bio-Diesel, which provides better fuel economy, and can be produced from Algae seems the most promising bio-fuel. Furthermore, it provides a useful by-product that is rich in protein and can be used as feed for livestock. Additionally, it's density of production per acre FAR EXCEEDS all known types of bio-fuels and such farms can be co-located with CO2 producing utilities as a means of scrubbing their emissions. There's just very little downside with Algae as a bio-fuel producer, except that most American farmers will find it difficult to benefit. When o' when, will the world wake up and smell the pond scum??.. ;0) Hawk
