I don't believe Z, CJ, or tejek would agree that there has been involvement between Iran and AQ on any significant level, but they would have to speak for themselves.

But the amount of money that Iran put into the Northern Africa operation was, I believe, measured in 100s millions -- not chickenfeed. I could be wrong about the denomination, but I seem to recall that.

The financial transactions were complex, and I have certainly not studied them in depth as Bodansky obviously did. But Bin Laden personally received title to 1,000,000 acres of land in Sudan as part of it, and was allowed to bring in millions in machinery for construction of the camps duty-free.
