William: Drat! Haven't been able to pick up my Nov 15's yet. I didn't get the order in soon enough, this A.M., cause I was flapping my gums here on SI! ( :< { )

<< China is a lost cause >>

I'm not sure about this. GEMS certainly has it's foot in the door there. Motorola's woes of slow sales COULD portend GEMS good sales in China. Someones got to lose, someones got to win.

<< They paid 3x sales for odc and 5x for wireless. >>

I think I understand the significance of this comment. But, I don't know what IS a good purchase price for these companies. What is the normal purchase price "sales ratio"? And, if they are overpaying for these companys, one has to ask why they are doing it, or "what the heck were they thinking", as you so put it.

But, the bottom line is: If we see a slow 3rd qtr, and then get hit with 4th qtr charges, what will be the impact on the stock price?

Thanks,

Bob
