More on obama--it seems he quit his church for the same reason he joined it--political expediency.

Couldn't agree more.

I can't say why he joined it. I assume, from the 20 year stay there, that he had a substantial commitment to it (presumably, his joining predated his interest in politics).

But one has to be very leery of a person who would walk away from a 20-year hitch at his church solely for political expediency, which he clearly did.

If one's commitment to his religion is so fickle, what would be his commitment to any action taken as president -- for example, if it is necessary to go to war or stand up to Congress on some issue or to fight terrorism internally?

I think Obama is another Clinton in this regard -- to hell with what's right for the country, what will further my political career (something Clinton is still trying to do, 8 years later).
