It is fair to say that no one, not even Hamilton who wanted a stronger presidency than actually got written in, envisioned the president as having "near absolute control" over anything.

"However, if you doubt that presidents run foreign policy, you need only look at the Iraq War, which apparently, has been largely opposed by the Left for the last couple years. "

That is because the Senate has failed in their constitutional obligations.

And that is why I oppose the same party controlling both houses and the presidency.

Not that seems to make a difference to anyone else.
