Any individual's motivations are their own and all of us form relationships that we find satisfying. Naturally, none of us pick our parents and my own family has both liberals and conservatives. Influences in our lives can lead us both to embrace or reject concepts. Obama's mother's nontraditional approach seems evident. As for microlending, it too would also suggest a creative attitude on her part. Unquestionably, from Obama's writings his biracial heritage was difficult to grasp in his youth. He did however pursue an Ivy League education and ambition obviously became a driving force in his life. So although politically I have numerous and substantial disagreement on many issues, it is also apparent his family instilled in him a drive to succeed.
