I'm sorry to say that I've heard the same thing that Perry reports. MSFT has the power. SUNW gave MSFT the right to design JAVA for Windows. MSFT may have to pay a fine to SUNW for a license infringment. But by that time, it may be too late for JAVA as an operating system in the PC because MSFT will have its next version of NT on the market.
