The Greenhouse Effect people say that more CO2 means increased storms [= faster convection as you say]. Which means faster removal of water vapor from the tropics, and faster deposition of it in the frozen poles and glaciers.

So the Greenhouse Effect means faster growth of polar ice and reduced sea level, but over a smaller area. Antarctica can certainly take a lot of ice.
