BUY AND HOLD?
Dear Everyone,
I'd like to share thoughts with you about this. Warren Buffett is in favour of holding "forever" as he says. On the other hand it seems to me that he gets to talk deeply with the officers of every company that he owns or is considering owning. So he has more crucial data about the company than we have.

Looking back over 57 years of investing, it seems to me that the BIG profits were made when there was an initial low P/E which later expanded greatly, say 2 to 6 times PLUS the earnings soared over a period of 2 to 4 years. The combination produced or could have produced enormous gains. So when do we get the initial conditions of low P/E plus high return on capital? In times of panic or general disgusted abandonment of the stock market.

So hold onto cash waiting patiently for that LOW P/e (single digit or close to it) and high return on net assets(a pretty good indicator of future high growth). When we have an enormous profit we should not hesitate to fall out of love with it and SELL. The combination is needed.Typically one holds on the tightest just when it is time to sell.
JMHO. Any comments?
