BRIEF: Applied Energetics has 'classified' deal
Jun 05, 2008 (The Arizona Daily Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Tucson-based Applied Energetics Inc. said it has received a contract worth up to $9.3 million from the U.S. Marine Corps for a "classified system."
The company said it could not disclose the nature of the program. In March, Applied Energetics said it had completed a test of its latest product to counter improvised explosive devices (IEDs) for the Marine Corps, as well as a test for the Pentagon's Joint IED Defeat Organization.
The one-year contract announced Wednesday was issued by the U.S. Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.
