why not just go ahead and acquire all of WAVE outright, for a price that perhaps would not be too much different? Then you can go ahead and spin off the chip, systems and software businesses for hundreds of millions of dollars, plus you would have $558m worth of 2.5-2.7 GHz of spectrum, as per the calculation ...

All the numbers I've heard related to the value of Nextwave spectrum holdings are overpriced. Nextwave spectrum has nowhere near the customer penetration of current 3G spectrum. Folks fail to recognize (or at least acknowledge) that important difference.

Nextwave might be destined to be bought by someone ... but it's likely, in spite of its spectrum holding, rather than because of its spectrum holdings.

fwiw, I have always had concerns with many of the words coming our way via seeking alpha folk.
