If you talk to people like me, who have paid quarterlies most of their life because they were in business for themselves, honesty isn't the problem, it's failure to put enough aside.

Most of those in my shoes have gone though the experience of going light on the payments in the first 9 months, and then being stuck with a massive tax load at the end, plus penalties.

Doing this breaks more start up businesses than almost anything else, IMO.
