Ruminants waste a lot of energy by emitting all that excess CH4. With a little genetic tinkering, perhaps they could be redesigned to be more productive by better metabolizing their feed. That would cut farmer's feed bills, lower food prices, and reduce political pressure over greenhouse gases.
