Yes, but electric power plants are much more efficient than our cars, almost 40% to just over 20%. Car batteries and electric motors are over 80% efficient, especially if good controls are used to prevent overcharging. So 40% * 80% is 32% and still a lot more efficient than a normal car. If they can get the batteries to hold large charges and charge quickly I would love a high performance electric car. I have driven a Chevy S10 pickup electric that would haul butt!
