Well, definitely not pay $2.50 for celery. I sure won't pay that. My supermarket sells celery by the stalk. If I need a stalk or two, that's the way I buy it. But there are less costly substitutions for celery if it comes down to that.

But more to your point, yes, grocery prices are really moving. I am just short of devoid of price consciousness when it comes to my spoiled taste buds but even I'm noticing. Still, there's a lot you can eat that's less costly yet nutritious. I just fixed a big bowl of coleslaw for lunch. (I probably shouldn't mention that I had Chilean sea bass with it. <g>)
