There is no mistake, the cache hierarchy is undeniably worse and if you have <=6MB cache-bound programs they will suffer. The big question then is are there any commercially relevant applications that fit that particular bill and I don't really know to be honest. Games have been shown to depend on both cache and memory latency so I suggested them as a possibility.
