Puplava has mentioned the short position in SSO from time to time. He also mentioned various markdown (manipulation) techniques including "spoil your weekend" and "end of day markdown". Look at the last few trades today for SSO. It was trading strongly earlier to end up a penny on the day. Last three trades were at 16:10 for a total of 400 shares at 24 cents less than the previous trades. Maybe I should subscribe to level II quotes.
