I suspect Hillary's strategy is simple and smart. She got the word out that she wants to be the VP on the "dream ticket", and she would bring in women and her "18 million voters" etc - and the party would be strong and united.

If Obama nominates her, she will accept. But most likely he will not - which will make her and her supporters feel "dissed" - and it will make it "understandable" that she may not go too far overboard to help him. If he loses the election, she'll run in 4 years. Seems like a win-win set of alternatives for HC... under the circumstances.
