You clearly don't know the issue.

For very few of the derivatives, it isn't known exactly what they contain. There isn't an accompanying document that details what they represent. The buyers trust that the sellers are adequately tracking things for them. Given that the sellers are the top securities firms, that seems to be a safe bet.

We now know that it isn't.

There are people who have avoided foreclosure because it can't be proven who actually holds their note. It has gone off into derivative land with out an inadequate paper trail. Now, if you consider that to be keeping records, well...
