I don't recall him discussing cap and trade which is totally unrelated to the high and rising price of oil. His suggestion was to take the current prices of gasoline even higher by slapping some additional taxes on it to the point at which consumers would voluntarily conserve. I would prefer to slap some higher income taxes on Mr Krauthammer to the point that he would then rein in his spending and see how he likes that! People like Mr. K shouldn't even comment on matters of the economy when they're so lacking in understanding. He's focused on gasoline prices as the casualty of higher oil prices. I wonder if he knows that Dow Chemical announced an across the board 20% increase in all its products this week. Mr. K is focused on gasoline and perhaps doesn't know that Saran Wrap is also a petrochemical product and thus is having its costs of production going up with rising oil prices.
